History Of That Place
Mayapur is said to be the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a 15th-century saint and the founder of the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition. The town gained importance as a spiritual center in the 1960s when the ISKCON movement established its headquarters here.
